Day 2  Hambleden – Elite Middle Distance Race / non-elite Long Distance Race

Just north of the River Thames, between the historical riverside towns of Marlow and Henley, Hambleden offers classic Chiltern-style undulating slopes, some steep, with a complex path and track network.  The area is covered in mature beech, mixed deciduous and conifer.  The woodland is open and very runnable.  Last used for the Southern Championships in 2011. 

This race forms part of the 2013 UK Orienteering League.

The following classes will be available:

  • M/W10 to M/W16 A and B classes, 
  • M/W18, 20 and 21 Elite, Long and Short, 
  • M/W21 Very short,
  • M/W35 to M75 and W70 classes, Long and Short, 
  • M80/85 and W75/80/85, Long only.

All the above are by pre-entry only.

  • White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green courses, can be entered on the day.
  • Free String course, can be entered on the day.

Map scale will be 1:10,000 and 1:15,000, with 5m contours.

Start times will be from 1000 until 1400.

Dogs are allowed at the event.  However they must remain on a lead at all times and are restricted to parking and assembly areas and routes to/from these.
