Taste of Wales hold the Red Tractor Assurance which sets recognised standards in various product sectors and across the supply chain.
The standards cover food safety, animal welfare, environmental protection and traceability and are a requirement for supplying many of the major retailers in Britain as well as some well-known pub and restaurant chains.
The standards start before the farm gate with animal feed and seed potatoes and cover the breadth of the supply chain from farms, livestock and product transportation, auction markets and collection centres to food and meat processing.
