Day 4 - Relay (Beaudesert)

Location:

Beaudesert is just to the north of Cannock Wood.

Terrain:

Beaudesert is a forested area with streams and marshes, and intricate contouring and the famous bell-pits (deep holes with raised edges) proliferating.

Map:

1:10,000 5m contour detail. Remapped in 2017 by Peel Land Survey to ISOM2017 using LIDAR data for the first time.

Classes:

The usual relay classes are available.

Clothing:

British Orienteering require all competitors to wear clothing that fully covers the torso and legs. There may also be a requirement to carry a hooded waterproof top. If required, there will be notices on the day.

Dogs:

We now have limited use of the parking field used for Day 3 parking which allows dogs.  HOWEVER, access to the field is through the Relay competition area, so the following conditions apply:

  • You must arrive before 09:30
  • Competitors to leave area by 09:45
  • No pedestrian access to cars between 09:45 and 12:15
  • Exit only after 12:15

If you cannot meet all of these conditions, then please do not bring your dog.
